Foreign students in Switzerland can take advantage of reduced fares for public transport season tickets, thanks in particular to special offers from the various cantons. Here are some of the public transport season tickets available to foreign students in Switzerland:
Community day pass
This pass allows foreign students to travel freely for one day on all public transport in the relevant fare community. It is available at reduced student fares.
General student pass
Foreign students under the age of 25 can take advantage of a general student travelcard, which allows them to travel freely on public transport in Switzerland. This season ticket is offered at a reduced rate compared with the standard general season ticket.
Half-fare travelcard
Foreign students can take advantage of a half-fare travelcard, which allows them to buy public transport tickets at half price. This pass is offered at a reduced rate for students.
